Man Ray’s Object to Be Destroyed remained intact for almost 35 years–although Ray intended to destroy it–until a group of anti-Dada art students in Germany broke it while demonstrating at a Dada show. Shortly thereafter Ray reproduced the work and called it Indestructible Object.
